About Us
about us
In 1954 a company by the name of Screen Craft was initiated by two brothers, Lynn and Richard Saunders, for the purpose of screen process printing. The products printed were pressure sensitive logos and truck markings.

During the 1960's a great deal of business was found in the need of printing markings for missile parts and the Minute Man Missiles. The Minute Man Missile carries logos which were printed by Screen Craft, which are now displayed in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.

Years passed by and the company found a market in printing 8-sheet posters for the local Harry H. Packer Outdoor Advertising plant. In order to increase the market Screen Craft would find locations and customers for Packer so we could print the paper. Realizing the next step was installation of the sign structures, this created the impetus for the start of Screen Craft evolving into the Outdoor arena, at which time the words" Outdoor Advertising" were added to the original name of Screen Craft.

About eleven years after the original start up another brother, Lyle, was added in as an equal owner. The three worked together until July of 1998 when Lyle passed away from cancer.

In 1973, under the threat of the Highway Beautification Act, the Company sold most of its outdoor assets (advertising structures) to Galaxy Outdoor, and after three years working for them, decided to leave and rebuild a new company.

The company no longer did screen process printing, only outdoor. Therefore, it was agreed the name should imply the real purpose and goal of the company, resulting in Saunders Outdoor Advertising, Inc.

The company is currently free of debt, owning all of its structures, buildings, equipment and land holdings, on which about 45% of the advertising structures are built. Starting with one structure in 1978 to over two hundred structures at present.

The goal of this company is to provide exceptional quality and timely installation for the advertiser at a competitive and reasonable price. The consistent result of this attitude has provided us with a higher than average occupancy on all our available space.
